[编辑]源自原始意大利語 *gezō，與法利斯克語 𐌊𐌄𐌔𐌄𐌕 (keset)同源。根據 De Vaan 的說法，[1]本詞源自*h₂ǵ-es-，原始印歐語詞根*h₂eǵ- 的引申（參見agō）；對比原始日耳曼語 *kas- (“扔”)。
