詞源[編輯]
1571年，意為「帶回監獄」，源自中古英語 repryen (「扣押，羈押」)（1494年），可能源自中古法語 repris，reprendre (「拿回」)的一個變位形式，與reprise同源。其詞義已被泛化，但還暗含監獄或處刑的色彩。名詞用法自1598年可考。[2]對比拉丁語 privare。
