詞源[編輯]
(1400年代中期),源自中古英語 stote (「貂,夏天棕色皮毛的」),來源不詳。該單詞和古諾爾斯語 stutr (「公牛」)、瑞典語 stut (「公牛」)和丹麥語 stud (「閹公牛」)(另見英語 stot)有點類似,但難以將它們的語義關聯起來,除非它們共有一個來源「(棕色?)雄性哺乳動物」。
