[编辑]源自古法語 mathematique，源自拉丁語 mathēmatica (“数学”)，源自古希臘語 μαθηματικός (mathēmatikós, “关于所学之事物”)，源自μάθημα (máthēma, “知识，学问，学习”)。代替了原来的古英語 rīmcræft。
