巴西巴伊亞的桃椰子樹,在千里達和多巴哥被稱為 peewah(詞義1)。
在千里達和多巴哥,桃棕櫚的果實也被稱為 peewah(詞義2)。

借自特立尼達克里奧爾英語 peewapeewah,源自拉丁美洲西班牙語 pijguao,可能源自克丘亞語 [具體何詞?][1]此英語詞和西班牙語 pifápivá (巴拿馬)pijuayo (秘魯) 同源。
