詞源[編輯]
源自中古英語 plommet (「鉛球，擺錘」)，自1382年有書面記錄，源自古法語 plommet或者plomet，plom、plum (「測深錘」)的指小詞，源自拉丁語 plumbum (「鉛」)。動詞最早記錄見於1626年，表示「測量，測深」，其源自名詞。
