日文汉字新旧字体条目

日文汉字自从1946年以来，开始进行简化，形成新字体。之前的日文字体现在称作旧字体，与繁体中文字酷似，除了研究早期文献以外，现在几乎不用，但没有彻底消失，例如日文维基文库仍使用旧字体保存1946年以前文献。想请问任何用户，尤其是懂日语的用户，遇到日文汉字新旧字体条目，例如中国人同时是简体中文以及日文新字体，而中國人同时是繁体中文、日文旧字体、以及韩文汉字时，应该重定向合并，还是分别建立页面？重定向合并的好处是我们能同时注明同一日文语词的新旧字体，避免内容重复。（英文维基词典对于繁简体中文以及日文新旧字体分别建立页面，有时不易维护。）--Jusjih 14:18 2006年4月13日 (UTC)

刚才以中华民国实验成功，我已经制作Template:日文新旧字体，会自动不做日文新旧字体转换，但因为简体日文语简体中文部完全相同，所以为了避免日文新字体中華民国显示成简体中文中华民国，要移动页面制作重定向。此外，因为韩文汉字几乎不简化，所以类似语词原则应以繁体中文为主要名称。--Jusjih 08:43 2006年4月14日 (UTC)

我觉得只要是不同的形素就应单建条目，好不好维护是次要的。简单地说、只要是某种形素存在，维基词典上就应有一个条目。把所有的汉文字单词全都并到繁体字或简体字题目下编辑才难维护呢。因为不仅会引起争议，而且这不是每个人都能做到的。很多情况下，繁体字与简体字的差别很小，例如奥林匹克运动会的奥字，我在百科上编辑时把后面的运动会转换了但却忘了那奥字，结果苦琢磨了半天。 --Shibo77 03:04 2006年4月28日 (UTC)

繁体字和日语的不互换繁简

简体字中的“了”可以对应至繁体字中的“了”和“瞭”，但繁简互换只将简体字中的“了”换至繁体字中的“瞭”，而无法依其他情况换至繁体字中的“了”。 在这里，我的解决办法是如“万”这个条目中所做的一样。“万”和“萬”这两个字在繁体间不互换，只在简体中保持让“萬”换至“万”，即在MediaWiki:Conversiontable/zh-tw里加上“*万=>万;”。并且在“万”的条目中加入“:<small>這裡的'''万'''只指繁體字中的「万」，其他的請見[[萬|-{萬}-]]。</small>”。

而有关日语中的汉字，若是如“异人”一样，在日语和汉语中都有意义的话，即保持其繁简互换，以“いじん（-{異人}-）”的方式来标明其日语中汉字的写法。如像“仏門”一样只在日语中有意义，但繁体中的“門”会但换成简体中的“门”的话，即在此条目中加入“-{T|仏門}-”。而若如“爱国”一样只是日语中有意义，但繁简中的“爱国”也在汉语中有意义的话，则在MediaWiki:Conversiontable/zh-tw中加入“*爱国=>爱国”以保持其汉字写法，但不取消“爱国”的繁简互换。另外，“-{T|...}-”模版不一定可以将标题由简体转至繁体，如“呱呱の声をあげる”的“声”在模版加上去之后，一样会在繁体中被换成“聲”，则还是在MediaWiki:Conversiontable/zh-tw中加上“*呱呱の声をあげる=>呱呱の声をあげる;”来取消错误的繁简互换。

上面是我提出有关汉语和日语在繁简体中的一些做法。而其他的非管理员，则可在“Wiktionary:繁简互换请求”中提出请求。

Statistical design approach The statistical approach is based on designing an enhanced elementary cable section, possibly exceeding the section length obtained by a worst-case design. By admitting a certain probability that the attenuation or dispersion between points S and R is larger than specified system values or that a transverse compatible design may not be obtained, cost savings may be achieved in long-haul high bit-rate optical systems through the reduction of the number of repeaters. When using the statistical approach, the subsystem parameters are expressed in terms of the statistical distributions, which are assumed to be available from the manufacturers. Such distributions can be handled either numerically (e.g. by Monte Carlo methods) or analytically (e.g. aussian averages and standard deviations). Examples of parameters which can be considered statistical in nature are the following: – cable attenuation; – cable zero-dispersion wavelength and zero-dispersion slope; – splice and connector loss; – transmitter spectral characteristics (central wavelength, spectral width, etc.); – available system gain between points S and R (e.g. optical power available at point S and receiver sensitivity at point R. These parameters may need to be considered separately for transverse compatibility considerations). According to design practices, each of the above parameters can be considered either statistical or worst-case. In a semi-statistical approach, those parameters assumed deterministic may be given a zero-width distribution around the worst-case value. Details are given in Recommendation G.955.

Betawiki: better support for your language in MediaWiki

Dear community. I am writing to you to promote a special wiki called Betawiki. This wiki facilitates the localisation (l10n) of the MediaWiki interface. You may have changed many messages here on Wikipedia to use your language for your language profile, but if you would log in to for example the English language Wiktionary, you would not be able to use the interface as well translated as here. Infact, of the 1792 messages in the core of MediaWiki, 0 (zh-cfr), 1109 (zh-classical), 1691 (zh-cn), 0 (zh-hans), 0 (zh-hant), 0 (zh-hk), 0 (zh-min-nan), 0 (zh-sg), 1690 (zh-tw), 1690 (zh-yue) messages have been translated. Betawiki also supports the translation of messages of over 75 extensions, with 981 messages.

If you wish to contribute to better support of your language in MediaWiki, as well as for many MediaWiki extensions, please visit Betawiki, create an account and request translator priviledges. You can see the current status of localisation of your language on meta and do not forget to get in touch with others that may already be working on your language on Betawiki.

Exemption doctrine policy

Hello. As you might know, the Wikimedia Foundation approved a resolution concerning non-free images more than a year ago. The resolution says that unless Wikimedia projects create an exemption doctrine policy (EDP) for non-free images, all of those images shall be deleted by March 23, 2008 (which was yesterday). We'd now like to gather information from the projects about their exemption policies in one place so we can check their validity, and if images on those projects are in accordance with the Foundation's resolution. Your project is one of these we don't have information about, so it'd be great if you could add it to the page listing all EDPs, meta:Non-free_content. If you have any questions about the page or don't have an EDP yet and want one, you can use the appropriate talkpage on Meta or just contact me directly on Meta or by e-mail (however, please note that I'm just a volunteer and therefore not in a position to give any official advice). The 2008 Board election committee announces the 2008 election process. Wikimedians will have the opportunity to elect one candidate from the Wikimedia community to serve as a representative on the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will serve a one-year term, ending in July 2009.

The voting system to be used in this election has not yet been confirmed, however voting will be by secret ballot, and confidentiality will be strictly maintained.

Votes will again be cast and counted on a server owned by an independent, neutral third party, Software in the Public Interest (SPI). SPI will hold cryptographic keys and be responsible for tallying the votes and providing final vote counts to the Election Committee. SPI provided excellent help during the 2007 elections.
