sur via uzanto paĝo aŭ metu ĝin en via babela ŝablono."Gung ho" is really an interesting word! mixed up with Chinese and English... "work together" == "gong ho", lOl. can u write some more words like this? very curious about those Asian original words. :) --Samuel 14:11 2004年5月29日 (UTC)
- I actually heard people using this word on TV several times; in fact, even more often than feng shui. But I believe gung ho is the only Chinese-origined word that is used "normally" in English that does not have Chinese-specific meanings like feng shui and kung fu do. Kowtow came close, but gung ho has absolutely no association to Chinese nowadays in its usage as far I can tell. It may be a bit dated though, like associated with the 50s or 60s.
- Last year, I compiled the entire list of all English loanwords from Chinese found in normal big dictionaries: w:zh:英语#借中文词. I'll include lychee now. :-) --Menchi 09:57 2004年5月30日 (UTC)
