hunk的齿擦音变体，起源不确定。

或是派生自hump，经由早期中古英语*hunche、*humpchin，来自*hump +‎ -chin, -chen (指小词后缀)，等同于hump +‎ -kin。“预感，猜测”义据说源自过去赌博时摸驼背能带来好运的迷信。
