源自法語 Gargantua，弗朗索瓦·拉伯雷所著《巨人傳》中一個胃口很大的巨人的名字。該詞系拉伯雷從葡萄牙語和西班牙語 garganta (「喉嚨」)一詞派生而來。[1]
