詞源[編輯]

Starostin 認為此詞繼承自原始因紐特語 *atqa-nǝʁ，派生自原始愛斯基摩語 *atʁa-。Fortescue 認為此詞源自aqqaneq (「十一，數字基底」)，源自aqqarpoq (「下降」)，源自原始愛斯基摩語 *at(ə)- (「下」)，即「當某物下降時所提供的」（當一個人用完手指數數，於是往下繼續使用腳趾）。
