源頭未知。[1]該詞首次用於動詞為1905年，[2]作為名詞使用於1948年。[1]可能是對照地區俚語詞彙wang、whang (“猛擊，毆打”)。[2]對照荷蘭語 wanken (“來回移動；用手移動”)。
