[编辑]源自美國保守派參議員Rick Santorum的姓氏。[1]他曾將同性戀比作獸交,又稱達到規定年齡的成年人在性行為方面並不享有憲法規定的隱私權。[2]此後,美國專欄作家Dan Savage收集了讀者的意見,舉辦了一場比賽來定義並“銘記這次醜聞”。[3]Savage 建立了相關網站來定義這個詞並推廣出去。[4]
