源自me (代词宾语形式) + think (“似乎”)。在近代英语中,被威廉·莎士比亚使用了不下150次,在中古英语中,杰弗里·乔叟使用me thinketh,而在古英语中,阿尔弗雷德大帝使用mē þyncþ。 对比德语中的等价用法mich dünkt。
